I believe in bringing about change in my personal life using simple methods and taking small steps toward my goal. When I read a book, I experience the catharsis of the main character or my favorite character in the novel.
The Cathartic experience provides me with an understanding and I see a personal growth within me. My penultimate goal and hope for my blog is – ‘My blog inspires reading habits among my readers!’
I tutor based on availability and need. I am currently working with a child to help him understand English. I help him with his reading comprehension. The aim of the activity is to make sure that my wards can read on their own.
Before Every Big Change – Take heart for the First Smallest Step of Effort towards Progress is often tough!
Personal Quote
The first baby steps always count since it is up against negative thoughts and critical views. There are many ways to lead you towards Literary Fluency. Each tutor approaches it differently! The best way for one student may not apply for the others. In that way, I feel each child is unique!
Then, it becomes vital that the student’s temperament and learning interests are taken into consideration. The idea should be to inspire the person and take interest in knowing things and how they interact with their intellect.
The goal of beginning as an Emergent Reader to progress as an Independent Reader can be achieved in piecemeal fashion. Every effort is important especially those of the tutor and the student. Together they create an independent reader who reads without any reading aid. This new empowered person can become the fulfilling experience of the tutor’s life.
Simplifying Thoughts and Ideas
One of the aims for my blog is to make it simple to understand. While the simplicity of the words used should allow for readers to have clear ideas of the thoughts shared in this space.
Sometimes, complex thoughts must be broken down to multiple points and then, presented as easy to relate simpler thoughts, I use this structure for understanding and for developing an improved thought process.
The human mind is an intricate organ that can think and reproduce the same thought as ideas or as thoughts. When the idea is clear with proper attached pointers for presenting them in the best of light, then, it is a win-win situation for communication.
This insurmountable activity a brain can perform with the right-thinking tools. The simplest of activities sometimes involves the entire brain’s neural activity. Reading results in the brain to hum with activity. These activities then lead to multi-faceted development for a person.
Standing In Tandem, While Being Focused
The experience of working in conjunction with all the brain parts to view and to solve issues happens when a powerful story is read. Be it fairy tales or bedtime stories involving magic, all books lead to creating a sense of well-being. For a child who believes in magic and other narrative elements as true until the bubble of dissolution is busted.
But the magic that books had created remains with the growing up children. Some continue to read and enjoy. While some of them take their disappointment to make it factual understanding of the real world. In both scenarios the child has a positive attitude towards reading.
Now the mystery of the world is uncoverable and more information about the environment around them trickles in with their newly learnt reading skills. This is the most interesting thing to take away from the book reading experience from a young age.
Inspiring Others While Getting Inspired!
There are some experiences from my past which have provided me the opportunity to be inspired and to inspire others. During my initial days of reading lead to writing poems, after initial sorrow filled poems, I started to enjoy writing absolute nonsense.
It was during my college days that I understood that some of my poems were borderline nonsense. They were sometimes to fantastical to be true. I remember writing about the Moon and the Sun falling in love with each other and being eventually separated to meet each other during the eclipse.
This is utter nonsense but a fantasy that I imagined up and later found a similar folklore to support my fantasy. In such manners of weird working of the mind I have found inspiration in writing about things that didn’t seem probable.
Dreaming About By-Lines and Recognized
One of my deep-seat regrets is that I don’t have a single by-line to my retold folktale created during my internship. The joy of writing that story can never replace the joy of just searching for the story. In the process of research, you end up reading more stories than you write. Just imagine if you get paid for it, I think my life is set!
Even to this day, I may not believe in fairy tales but I believe in happy endings. You work at something and you find out that the joy of reading them was rewarding by itself. Among those interesting stories I found that the world over we are the same.
Similarity and Diversity – A Union of Mindsets
That which we consider similar or diverse has got to do with our mindsets. When someone sits you down and tells you exactly why and wherefore of things then you shall see the truth. When peaceful explanatory communication does not happen there is chaos.
Every country has their own children’s literature and some have even collected it for the common good. This collection of tales taken from past narrators and handed into the hands of current day readers – are gifts of ancient wisdom.
When you read with a compassionate eye you shall find that the stories are more similar than different from each other. Then, the true value of children’s literature would open our ever-hearty feelings for happy ending in our stories.
My Blog or My Change in Exploration
To better understand my own thoughts and their processes, this blog allows me to change with each post. I don’t know what I would discover at the end of each post. It is very much like the scene in “Forrest Gump” movie where the lead character says and I quote:
“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” –Forrest Gump
