Call of the Dawn

A Choice Note

Before I begin my stream of consciousness… Unless you are not in the same boat with me about doing away with war completely and viewing humanity with more humane feelings towards each other, then we are at cross-purpose here. This would be a wasted read for you. So, you may stop reading…If not please do continue…

For the life of me, I don’t know why I don’t like Morning wishes. Seems idiotic to me, but still, I continue to hold this grudge against morning wishes. About a year back, I decided that I will not react to these wishes and have a foul mood but to go ahead and make a switch in the way I approach the whole discomfort of my soul.

For the past year, I have been in this mode of if someone wishes me Good Morning with an image in WhatsApp of course, I would either put a namaste symbol or if inspired I would write something and pass it on. It could be a poem in verse or prose, some thoughts that the image inspired, or plain kick of another stream of thoughts.

Because forwarding morning messages is such a lazy and uncreative way of wishing and so impersonal. This angers me but to channelize the anger I come up something original for the wish.

My Stream of Consciousness | My Favorite Narrative Style

The first time I encountered the narrative style called Stream of Consciousness, I was quite surprised that the whole process of the writing was so close to what I write generally in my diaries.

The first book that I read which used this style was Orlando by Virginia Woolf, one of my school library finds. I was a little confused on the change in the character from he-to-she, but the book read smooth for me. That became one of my writing devices after all, in the later years of my writing days.

The fact that things in this style could be daring and borderline anti-social. Yet, the freedom to express creatively within its boundaries lies the challenges of the writing life. Sometimes, I need to see something to write about it.

Imagination can only go thus far and later it is visual aids that jump in to rescue the day of failed or succeeded writing activity. I feel there is much to write even though all matters related to various topics have been covered already. Then, it becomes important to have a fresh set of eyes on old issues!

Relative or Relatable Truth

Much of lives wonder stands on the grounds of being relative or relatable. The fact that we seek to achieve our personal and professional goals in life for specific outcomes. Naturally, when that which we hold sacred in our hearts is squandered and plundered by philandering moralist skirting truth – then you question to revolt.

Do we question the revolt? Or be the revolt? That is Hamletian question ‘To be or Not to be?!’ The way I see it, given the present predicament and scowlers of war faced with its horror. I would say we sport on us the self-induced smugness that it doesn’t concern us.

But what could one really do?! I am helpless in the face of such mass level war killing and abuses. Everything is justified with a reason that would not hold water in a humanitarian analysis. Yet, we delude ourselves and puff our chest to beat our drums of victory on a war that was ill-won.

Selective Amnesia Justified

Mankind is suffering from ‘Selective Amnesia’ which is justified with fake protocol of diplomacy. This is when I feel having a Nationalistic feeling is a downfall. If it is okay if there is an unequal world and things can be any how and whichever way for the privileged, then there is social inequality and also justified?!!!

Our cavemen mentality of safeguarding self-interests through force may have its downfall, but have we evolved? Now, that is the question. Humans are still reacting and not proactively acting to the situation. Did diplomacy completely failed and was war the only solution? I keep wondering…

Yet, many a thought of failed talks between states and its leaders show solution cannot be reached without a proper process for such disputes. Developed Countries cannot call itself as developed if we do not think of peaceful solutions for tricky situations. But are these solutions at the cost of repression and subjugation of basic human rights. That set me thinking?!!!

Thinkers and Their Thoughts

I agree with Jiddu Krishnamurti’s thoughts on why war occurs amidst humanity.

War is the spectacular and bloody projection of our everyday life. It is an outward expression of our inward state, an enlargement of our daily action.

Many people have been talking about it and for many centuries actually! Where lies the answer to the most important question and there also lies the facts of foolhardiness of justifying such wars. Reasons like: I didn’t like the nose of the other person, so I punched him in the nose – kind of attitude.

Then, do we do a Hammurabi code of a nose for a nose?! Sounds ridiculous right. But it also seems to be oversimplification, I agree. But if we looked deep into the problem of cause to war, we might just find a nose war.

What cannot be solved in a simple talk across platforms and sound reasoning? In future, every Nation should create products that needs only local resources and so they keep to their borders, not go plundering other’s resources.

In the world of sharing and caring only on theory, of course will refute that the resources of earth should be shared and distributed unequally among the most deserving. Among God’s favorite people while you throw the others into dungeons of dark pain.

The Peace You Enjoy Is for Others Too!

Peace is a one commodity, that is not sold to all; but rationed in moderation with growing favoritism. When that becomes the call of the dawn then, justice is abused and misused. We all may in our hearts believe that the dream of peaceful coexistence could be possible. But are we truly peaceful within us?!!

First off, there should not be choice for peace, it must be a given to everyone. My one experience of shelling was in Kashmir vacation and that night I couldn’t sleep because both sides were important. Watching your brethren die should not be a prospect for anyone? Especially, watching children die must not be a reality at all.

I close with the hope for peace all over the world!
