Half the world is going organic and pro-nature, while the other half is getting to be advancing as artificially yours! Nothing is wrong there! Before every innovation, there have been people who have dissuaded the advancement. Eventually, they had to agree or come to terms with and co-exist.
GIGO Modelled PC and Network
The term GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) applies to the intake of food by humans too. Just like what you feed the computer as in codes and other programming data, the results are based on what it was fed with in the beginning.
It has been found that consuming processed and artificial food leads to long run harm to the human body. Likewise, exposure to erroneous details brings about similar humanlike conditions. Though slow, everyone is aiming to return to the old ways while keeping intact the advanced era’s comforts.
River of Time Never Flows Backward
Some forks in a road, once chosen cannot bring us back to the old road that has been left behind. Travelling on a known or an unknown path would mean that we are responsible for the choices made individually or collectively as a society. It is said that fear of fear would not free you from it unless you face it.
Since the first number crunching machine was created to do simple mathematical sums and formulae. Now, the industry has advanced so far. Today, we are watching as ‘Artificial Intelligence’ technology works through complex human thought processes to become a superlative human in the make.
Star Trek – Next Generation ‘Data’ Might Not be So Far!
When I found Data struggling to understand human emotion like Tears, Sadness, and Pathos very much a given in a human life. I felt can a machine feel. Why not?!! If yes then, should we punish if it makes a mistake. “Take away the charger!” “Drive them Nuts with Low Charge!” “Plug then to the Main until they beg to be recharged!”
Because as Humans we need recharge with some nutritional food, motivating thoughts, encouragement and acknowledgement for our capabilities and existence. Now poor Data who is always self-motivated and searching with occasional slips in the said state.
A better punishment for the machine would be to put it in an endless loop program. But then, the machine may settle down considering it as a happy existence and continue forever. Because it does not understand that it is in a rut. Because it loves to do the same task endlessly.
Loopholes in Being A Product of Artificial Intelligence
Here is a good example from my personal life. I have seen the growth of the Internet from the early days when the web was just a DOS program. Later when the Internet became a GUI based application. From then on, I started to miss the slash that rotates endlessly on a single phone line for data transfer. Even text-based page took ages to load on to the client. From that point to now we have progressed immensely.
What we enjoy today is the happiness and joy of millions and millions of contributors from different nationalities coming together to make a worldwide community that never ever met the other in-person but virtually. Sometimes, the server conversation is interesting to overhear.
I Ping, You Ping, and We Pinged Endlessly, Server-Client Duo
Now if the Servers are reprimanding each other when the response doesn’t match with the main directory of information. Bingo! We have a situation, call in the technician to fix it or to trick it. I was absolutely fascinated, when I studied Novelle Networking and it’s Shell Based Server that spoke in UNIX.
Loved to know what the Server does with a Client. Maybe it says the “display screen proudly presents your search!” Please, do eat a lot (this is my new Korean culture imbibe). So, that is the thing about the whole consumers theory of the web and its package deal.
All the related industry that formed around showcasing pages from Server to Client became more complex when the pages kept getting a revolving circle and mark “Loading Page…. Kindly Wait to be Served.” “Today we are serving the world so please wait patiently in the queue to be served at the earliest.”
Endurance Tested and Quality Checked
Today, everything is handed to you in seconds and in bright Eastman Colors on your display unit. I wonder, how we got here in the first place?!! It has been many decades of working, sweat, pain plastered, sleep lost over a machine that hasn’t thanked the hardworking humans yet. GIGO of course!
The Internet of Things (IoT) has connected the devices with sensor and software which could be used across the web at any time and at any space. Now we are fast approaching the day when you can leave a child armed with tools and a humanoid in the same room, doing babysitting duties.
Issue at hand is – Will ‘Data’ Be Dismantled?
Maybe saving the baby might not be, that dangerous as saving the robot who is at the child’s curiosity! Then, in such a case, maybe the humanoid could instruct how to dismantle and assemble them back.
This could be another of that self-supporting online help, while ensuring the entertainment value in babysitting! The Server served the Child client well! C’est Trés Bien! This could become child’s play mind you!!!
In getting everything connected are we missing out on something vital? Because when one is close to anything creative, we fail to spot our blind spots. Some logic which is part of the commonsense brain-matter gets lost in overthinking of the other lesser important things.
Close up shots and landscape shots are there to tell that both play an important role when decision-making for the future. What is important now cannot be given up for merely a futuristic view. The Past, the Present, and the Future together make our history such sweet spot to gloat.
Plain Dial Only Phone towards the Smartphones
When the communication industry and computing industry got together, it was a wild party time. The little device phone was a huge network of physical connection, now wireless. Connecting people was made so easy that it is no longer about reaching people living far off but finding time to reach them from our virtual distraction.
We need to revisit why we started this in the first place and where do we envision ourselves at the end. Because every end is a new beginning for something else. The core human value even today is of greater value than fast-paced self-immersing in technology.
“Eventually everything connects – people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se…”
